Surgery and Laser Capabilities
If surgery is required, it will be performed and monitored by a skilled team using the best equipment and instrumentation.

We are proud to boast that we are the only hospital on the western slope with a CO2 laser. This advanced instrument allows us to do surgery with minimal bleeding, decreased swelling, and, little to no pain. If you are considering declawing your cat, this is the most humane option available in veterinary medicine!

We have special monitors to ensure that anesthetic procedures are as safe as possible. During surgery we will be able to assess your pet’s blood pressure, respiration rate, oxygen level, EKG, and body temperature. By knowing these values, we can immediately make adjustments should the need arise.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a valuable tool for diagnostics in veterinary medicine just as in human medicine. This instrument allows us to look at the internal organs of the body to check for normal form and function, especially the function of the heart. Another major benefit is the capability of performing ultrasound guided biopsies. For example, should a small mass be found on the liver, we can use a tiny needle to retrieve a biopsy sample. Without this capability it is necessary to do a much more invasive surgery to obtain the needed tissue biopsy. We consider this instrumentation a necessity for our clients and patients to receive the highest quality veterinary care.

Nutrition
We carry many different brands of the highest quality pet foods because we believe that quality nutrition is one of the most important factors in preventing disease. For a maintenance diet we offer Flint River Ranch, Solid Gold, and Innova foods. For prescription dietary needs, we carry Royal Canin (the manufacturer of Innovative Veterinary Diets), Waltham, Eukanuba, Wysong, and Science Diet products. Let us counsel you on the best diet for your dogs and cats!

Preventative Care
Annual check ups are even more important for your pet than they are for people. Dogs and cats "age" at a faster rate than humans, which means more health problems can occur in a shorter period of time. We recommend having your pet checked "from nose to toes" each year, the appropriate vaccinations given, and any necessary laboratory work performed. After your pet reaches the age of 7 years, we follow the American Veterinary Medical Association's guidelines of recommending to you the need for twice-yearly physical examinations.

Laboratory
We have in-hospital capabilities for performing blood chemistry tests, complete blood counts, and electrolyte testing. Other in-house laboratory tests include urinalysis, microscopic exams for internal and external parasites, cytological exams of tissue and exudates, heartworm tests, feline leukemia and feline aids tests. We also utilize multiple outside veterinary specific laboratories to offer you the highest level of diagnostics available.
